The Spray Lake Sawmills Recreation Park Society The Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre is governed by a non-profit society called the Spray Lake Sawmills Recreation Park (SLSRP) Society. The society has an appointed board of directors that meet regularly to oversee the short and long term affairs of the society including the future development of the 26 acre park on which the sports centre is situated. In planning for the on-going development of the park, the SLSRP Society board has developed the following objectives to assist in decision-making: Help build a sense of community in the Cochrane district Be family oriented with an emphasis on health and wellness Have a broad based appeal for all leisure interests Be adaptable in response to changing needs Be planned with long-term vision Be a year-round facility Be spectator user friendly to enhance enjoyment for all Be aesthetically pleasing Build linkages with other organizations Meet the goals and objectives of the funding sources Depend on volunteer support Be governed by its own board as an autonomous entity Have clearly defined operating policies and guidelines Be financially self sustaining for operating costs
